WORKSHOP
Our workshop and creative kitchen is our second home and is located in the heart of Schöneberg. Here, qualified employees produce our belts and braces with care and attention to detail.
LEATHER
For our belts and braces we mainly process vegetable-tanned leather from Italian, German and English tanneries. Family businesses with whom we have built up long-standing business relationships and who - like us - are committed to the highest quality.

Full-grain belts

Belt cutting
After the skin has been straightened by hand, it is cut to the appropriate widths on our historic belt cutting machine.

Punch the tip
The blank is then given a saddler's point and a hanging hole.

Edge finishing
The next step is to round off the edges.

Colouring and polishing
The edges are then coloured and polished several times to seal them and prevent fraying. The high-quality finished edge is the alpha and omega of a long-lasting belt.

Ironing and stamping
The strap is now ironed to smooth the process owed bulging edges and to give the surface a subtle sheen. Finally, the strap is stamped with our brand logo on the back.
Stiched belts

Upper and lining leather
After the upper and lining leather have been straightened by hand, the appropriate widths are cut to size with the necessary margins on our historical belt cutting machine. After cutting, the lining leather is stamped on the back with our trade mark.

Cambering the leather
Next, the lining leather is skived all round the sides and the tip. This is possible in just one operation thanks to a special device on the splitting machine.

Laminating the leather layers
The split upper leather is then laminated with the prepared lining leather.

Trimming the blanks
The blank is now trimmed to our standard widths using the edge rounding machine and fitted with the classic saddler's point.

Colouring, polishing and sealing
The edges of the blanks are then coloured, polished and sealed several times to prevent fraying.

Sewing
In the final step, the blank is given a seam and thus becomes a strap. For this, we use solid yarns that cannot be compared with inferior industrial qualities. Our seams hold!
Braces

Punching of all leather parts
To make a pair of braces with the article code HT117, all the necessary leather parts, 8 in total, are first punched out and then split to the required thickness.

Making the bows
A cord insert is glued into the centre of each of the three leather rectangles. The rectangle is then folded and pressed.

Punching
The bow is then punched out again using a specially made tool.

Colouring and polishing
The edges of the bow are then coloured, polished and stitched. Also the edges of the so-called fish are coloured, polished and topstitched.

Assembling the bows and fish
The prepared fish are now mounted around the bow with a cartridge button. Three suspender straps are cut to the desired length and adjusters are sewn in. A metal loop is then attached and the fish are buttoned in.

Finish
The straps are now aligned using an angle template and glued to the lower braces cross. The upper braces cross is then stitched on. Finally, the characteristic patent braces buttons are buttoned on.
